Necropsy is basically an animal autopsy. Field necropsies can usually
be performed in around 30 minutes, and much of the time a diagnosis
can be made with a gross necropsy alone. If a gross necropsy isn't
diagnostic then samples can be sent into a laboratory for further
evaluation.
